Headteacher: Paul Mashinter, Carr Green Lane, Brighouse, West Yorkshire HD6 3LT
During a national lockdown, school, key stage or class closure, some children will be educated at home. It is the intention of staff at Carr Green to provide learning materials and resources to help pupils to continue their learning at home. Children attending school are given the same work as those at home.
There is no expectation that pupils have to complete all the work set. We understand the demands and challenges parents face, especially those working from home, and some parents like to set their own challenges to supplement school work.
Home learning is not ideal and we know that school is the best place for children to learn. Extended periods of home- learning can also impact on a child’s well-being and emotional development. We aim to communicate regularly with our home learners, provide pastoral and academic support where possible, and provide learning resources which pupils can use independently, or with some parental support. Activities and challenges are also set which encourage pupils to be active and healthy, creative and inquisitive. Teachers and support staff ensure that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), are suitably challenged and supported.
Approaches for each key stage differ, and detailed information will follow shortly.
In the meantime, if you require any additional information or support, please contact us via the school office or Class Dojo.
