Safeguarding at Carr Green Primary School

Our Commitment

At Carr Green Primary School, we know that some children may be vulnerable, and as adults, we have a moral and statutory duty to protect them. This means ensuring their safety, supporting their healthy development, and working closely with their families.

As a school community, we are strongly committed to working in partnership with parents, carers, and other agencies. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and it is our collective duty to ‘take special care’ to promote the welfare of all children.

The safety, wellbeing, and welfare of every child is our top priority. We strive to create a safe, supportive environment for all pupils, both in school and online.

If you have any concerns, please come and speak to us. We are here to help.

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting children from harm and supporting their overall wellbeing. At Carr Green Primary School, this includes:

  • Protection from abuse or neglect
  • Supporting children’s mental and physical health
  • Ensuring pupils feel safe at school and online
  • Promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing

We follow national statutory guidance (Keeping Children Safe in Education) and work closely with families and local agencies to make sure all children are safe, supported, and able to thrive.

You can read our full Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy to see how these principles are applied in our school.

Concerns About Children Outside Our School

At Carr Green Primary School, safeguarding means protecting the welfare of all children and taking action to keep them safe. This includes promoting their wellbeing, protecting them from harm, and taking prompt and appropriate action if we have concerns.

If you are worried about the safety, welfare, or wellbeing of any child — whether they attend our school or not — you should not keep your concern to yourself. It is important that any child who may be at risk of harm is supported and referred to the right professionals as soon as possible.
