Bullying
At Carr Green Primary School, bullying is never tolerated. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where every child feels valued and secure. We work in close partnership with children, parents, carers, and staff to prevent bullying, address concerns promptly, and support all those involved.
What Parents and Carers Can Do
At Carr Green Primary School, we value strong partnerships with parents and carers. By working together, we can ensure that all children feel safe, supported, and able to thrive.
- Keep open communication
Talk regularly with your child about their day at school, their friendships, and how they are feeling. Encourage them to share any worries and reassure them that they will be listened to and supported. - Look for changes in mood, sleep, or behaviour
Be aware of any changes such as reluctance to attend school, anxiety, low mood, difficulty sleeping, or changes in appetite or behaviour. These may be signs that something is worrying your child and could also inluceBe aware of signs that may indicate your child is being bullied, such as:
- Withdrawal from friends or activities
- Unexplained injuries or damaged belongings
- Emotional distress, frequent headaches, or stomachaches
- Reluctance to attend school
- Contact the school promptly
If you have any concerns about bullying, please contact the school as soon as possible. Early communication helps us to respond quickly, investigate thoroughly, and put the right support in place. - Monitor safe online behaviour
Support your child to use technology safely and responsibly. This includes monitoring social media and online activity, encouraging respectful communication, and reminding children to report anything that makes them feel uncomfortable.
Reporting Bullying
If your child is experiencing or witnessing bullying, it is important to act quickly. Support is available both in school and through external organisations.

Speak to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or another trusted adult at school. Children are encouraged to talk to any teacher, teaching assistant, or staff member they trust. - Trusted adult in school
