Attendance & Punctuality

Every Day Counts

At Carr Green Primary School, we want every child to enjoy school, feel confident and achieve their full potential. Regular attendance and good punctuality help children build friendships, develop positive routines and make the best possible progress in their learning.

Arriving at school on time each day ensures that children are ready to start learning alongside their classmates. Being late can mean missing important learning opportunities and key information at the start of the day.

If you are experiencing any difficulties affecting your child's attendance or punctuality, please contact us. We are committed to working in partnership with families to provide support wherever possible

Leave of Absence During Term Time

We understand that there may be occasions when parents and carers need to request leave of absence for their child during term time.

The law states that Headteachers may only grant leave of absence in exceptional circumstances. Requests must be made in advance by completing a Leave of Absence Request Form. Each application will be considered individually.

Family holidays during term time are not normally considered exceptional circumstances and are therefore unlikely to be authorised.

To request leave during term time, please complete the Leave of Absence Request Form below:

Unauthorised absences may result in a Penalty Notice being issued in accordance with the Department for Education's National Framework and Calderdale Council's Code of Conduct.
